Data
Data is simulated from data collected in previous years, each group has unique data.
Some Notes on the Data and Tests
For any differences between your stated procedure in your proposal and the procedure in the report from New Data from Old Data Labs, use the procedure outlined in the report given to you.
Comparison of Frother U and X
The process flow chart is:
graph LR;
F[Feed]-->R[Rougher];
R-->C[Cleaner];
R-->RT["Rougher Tailings"];
C-->CC["Cleaner Con"];
C-->CT["Cleaner Tails"];
- Frother U was tested at a dosage of 1, 2, and 3 drops. Frother X was tested at a dosage of 1, 2, and 3 drops. No repeat tests were conducted.
- A mass balance is not required for the data analysis. Do not use the given feed grade for any performance calculations. Back calculate feed masses.
- The top size of the rougher flotation feed used in testing was unknown, but can be estimated from the size distribution fits
- There was no qualitative difference in visually inspecting the froth appearance
Kyanite Flotation
When attrition scrubbing was used, the process flowsheet is:
graph LR;
F[Feed]-->S[Attrition Scrubbing];
S-->Fl[Flotation];
S-->U["Underflow (UF)"];
Fl-->C[CON];
Fl-->T[TAIL];
When attrition scrubbing was not used, the process flowsheet is:
graph LR;
F[Feed]-->Fl[Flotation];
Fl-->C[CON];
Fl-->T[TAIL];
- Do not use the given grade for performance calculations. A mass balance is not required for this assignment.
- Check the SE between Fe and Al, see if attrition scrubbing makes a difference.
