Proposal Objective

You are working at VT MinE Inc. and are tasked with solving one of two problems. As it is quite expensive to change process parameters in the processing plant, the company has decided to contract the test work out to a laboratory. Technicians in the laboratory have a scientific background, and some background in mineral processing, but are not fully aware of your goals for testing and do not have extensive knowledge of your process.

As part of the investigation, you must create a document with the following purposes:

  1. Documentation: Imagine 10 years from now, someone wants to know about the test work performed.

  2. Approval: Your supervisor would like to know about your plans before authorizing a $75,000 payment to the contracted laboratory, as well as a time line for the completion of the work and data analysis on your end.

  3. Communication: The laboratory technicians have to know what tests to run, the procedure you would like for each tests, and what data to record. The technicians are competent in making minor decisions, but need some guidance to perform the tests and obtain usable data.

After submitting your proposal, the tests will be completed by the lab and you will be given back the requested information.

You should work with your group members in developing the proposal, and the data analysis for the final report, but each individual must submit their their own proposal and final report.
